SPP PUMPS: DATA CENTRE PUMP APPLICATIONS
With nearly 150 years of engineering expertise, SPP has developed a wide range of hydraulic and mechanical designs to support critical infrastructure across the globe. In the data centre sector SPP offer pump equipment for applications that include Liquid Cooling Systems, Transformer Cooling, Cooling Towers & Chillers, Free Cooling, Water Intake, CRAC / CRAH & HVAC Systems, Booster sets, Heat Recovery and District Heating, and with an extensive approved fire pump range – whatever your challenge and wherever you are working we have a robust, and reliable pump solution for you.
Higher-capacity pumps from our ‘LLC’ range are designed for water supply and intake systems. Available in horizontal split case, high-capacity end-suction, and vertical turbine configurations, these units are supplied as pump sets, assembled and performance-tested in-house with LV, MV, or HV motors.
Pumps and packages can be configured in a range of materials suitable for fresh water, raw water or even seawater. High-efficiency and robust designs help minimise downtime. Pumps can also be equipped with Variable Speed Drives and condition monitoring & control packages.

Waste water pumps should be considered critical infrastructure in data centre environments – not just for compliance, but for operational continuity and risk mitigation. Water re-use and treatment is important, especially as operators push for increased WUE, sustainability and regulatory compliance.

To meet the increasing power demands of modern data centres, significant power infrastructure is required. SPP has been designing, engineering, and manufacturing highly reliable transformer cooling pumps since the 1930s, serving a broad range of sectors including power generation, distribution, locomotive, and renewable energy.
We deliver unmatched expertise in the transformer cooler industry having supplied thousands of transformer cooler pumps worldwide, boasting an excellent return on investment through their reliability and a service life that often exceeds over forty years.
SPP Pumps subsidiary, SyncroFlo, is based in Norcross, GA, USA, and has been manufacturing pre-packaged pump systems for over 50 years. SyncroFlo specialises in booster sets and HVAC systems.
The “IronHeart” booster system has been the core of our business since 1985 and is recognised as the industry standard for pressure boosting domestic water in commercial, industrial, and municipal buildings. These pre-engineered systems are designed as economical solutions for a wide range of pumping applications. Our pre-packaged systems are true plug-and-play solutions, helping to shorten manufacturing and construction cycles, which is a critical advantage for data centre build schedules.
We are a global pioneer in the specialist manufacture of high-quality fire protection pump packages and solutions. Our fire pumps are specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of fire protection systems and are approved by major fire protection bodies around the world.
With fire pump approvals from the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), FM, UL, and designs compliant with NFPA 20, we have more highly regulated and approved fire pump equipment in use worldwide than any other manufacturer.

Data centres generate large amounts of low-grade waste heat from servers and cooling systems. Reusing this heat helps operators meet carbon reduction targets, particularly in regions with strict environmental regulations. SPP’s range of pumps can circulate hot water to nearby residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, supporting sustainable heat recovery and district heating initiatives.

SPP Pumps subsidiary, SyncroFlo, is based in Norcross, GA, USA, and has been manufacturing pre-packaged pump systems for over 50 years. SyncroFlo specialises in booster sets and HVAC systems.
Supplied as fully assembled and tested PLC-controlled systems, these packages include VSD-driven pumps, glycol feed systems, air filtration, expansion tanks, control valves, and the ability to integrate chiller units. These pre-engineered packaged systems are true plug-and-play solutions, offering up to 15% savings over traditional site-built systems and shortening the manufacturing cycle which is a critical advantage for data centre build schedules.
SyncroFlo is the choice of some of the largest mechanical contractors and building owners. With all systems 100% functionally tested at the factory, you can be assured that the system performs as designed at the time of commissioning.
Traditionally, pumping systems have been built on-site by contractors from various disciplines. If not properly coordinated, the result can be delays, reduced quality, and compromised performance. The use of a packaged pumping system eliminates these risks. While the site is being prepared, the pumping system is manufactured in parallel within a controlled environment. Once the site is ready, the system can be delivered fully tested and ready for immediate operation.
