SPP received a 72-year-old Blair horizontal split case pump weighing 5ton from a UK Refinery site for refurbishment. The pump was received in a very poor condition and after inspection was deemed uneconomical to repair. The Pump OEM was no longer in business and original parts were no longer available.Replacement of the complete pump with another manufacturer would mean dimensional modifi­cations and the pump footprint would change. This would involve expensive Pipework modifi­cations and civils.

SPP agreed to reverse engineer the existing pump and manufacture an identical pump as an alternative option

New pump was manufactured via reverse engineering. SPP Supplied the Pump and patterns to the customer
